Diet Magic Review

Diet Magic is a weight loss supplement marketed by the Canadian company Symmetry Inc. The company appears to be primarily concerned with multi-level marketing (MLM) though, and market a number of other products as well. None of which have taken the world by storm.

Diet Magic Pros and Cons at a Glance

The Pros The Cons
  • Some of the ingredients show promise
  • Expensive
  • Doubts of identify of company
  • Could cause side effects

What is Diet Magic and how does it Work?

Diet magic BottleSymmetry states use of their pills can enhance the metabolism, reduce the appetite, and provide safe weight loss and boosted energy levels. The bottle to the right is another variation on the packaging. It is unclear why there are two versions.

Other promised benefits include

  • Fast working (results in 1 to 2 weeks)
  • No shakes or jitters
  • Safe & Effective
  • No side effects

Key Ingredients

Each pill provides:

  • Vitamin B6 (4mg)
  • Calcium (28mg)
  • Magnesium (16mg)
  • Chromium (120mcg)
  • Caffeine (90mg)
  • Vanadium (10mcg)

Vitamin B6 may help boost the metabolism, chromium is a fat burner, and the other ingredients are not without merit, but this is not a particularly inspired mix so the results may be somewhat limited. The caffeine content is similar to that provided by a standard cup of coffee and may help provide extra energy and some degree of appetite suppression, but caffeine side effects can include the jitters so Symmetry’s claim that the formulation is side effect free cannot be supported.

The Diet Magic blend also contains 250mg of a proprietary blend that consists of:

  • Dark Chocolate Powder
  • GeranaX
  • Green Tea Extract
  • B-Phenylethylamine HCI
  • Trace mineral complex

Green tea is probably the ingredient that offers the most potential. Several studies show it can provide powerful fat burning results, but with no inclusion rates to go by it is impossible to say what (if any) level of benefit it will offer here.

How to Take Diet Magic

Symmetry states one pill should be taken each day, but then confuse matters by pointing out four pills should never be exceeded in any 24-hour period.

The pill should be taken two hours after a meal, but never on an evening as the formulation can interfere with sleep.

Symmetry also recommends utilizing “cheat days” where supplementation is skipped to prevent the body becoming resistant to the formulation.

  • Week 1: Skip day seven.
  • Week 2: Skip days six and seven.

This process should be repeated on alternate weeks until the desired results are achieved.

Possible Side Effects

Symmetry claims Diet Magic is 100% safe because it is a natural formulation, but then provides a small print disclaimer that lists all the user groups the product is unsuitable for:

  • Persons under 17 years of age
  • Pregnant or nursing mothers
  • Caffeine sensitive individuals
  • People with high blood pressure
  • People suffering from heart disease
  • People who have difficulty urinating
  • People with psychiatric problems/depression
  • People who suffer from recurrent headaches
  • People who have any form of medical condition
  • People taking MAO inhibitor or ADHD drugs
  • People using drugs containing Pseudoephedrine, Ephedrine, PPA or caffeine-providing products.

The disclaimer also warns users to discontinue usage if “unpleasant effects occur”.

Customer Feedback

No independent customer feedback is available and the credibility of the testimonials on the Diet Magic website is extremely questionable. One reasonably lengthy testimonial on the homepage is credited to someone called Bonnie. P, who apparently lost 17lbs, managed to fit into her old jeans, and says she has “confidence in Diet Magic” because she can use it without fear of side effects. The same review is repeated word for word on the Symply Magic website. Again it is credited to Bonnie. P, but this time she has “confidence in Symply Magic” because she can use it without fear of side effects. The two blends contain different ingredients.

Purchasing Options & Considerations

Diet Magic can only be purchased from the Diet Magic website and via distributors who have signed up for Symmetry’s multi-level marketing scheme. To complicate matters further a product called “New Diet Magic” is available from seedietmagic.com. The blend contains totally different ingredients (some of them known to be dangerous).

The owners of seedietmagic.com claim they broke free from the “large multi-level marketing company (Symmetry Inc.)” a number of years ago due to issues over formula rights. They also claim Symmetry created Symply Magic to replace Diet Magic, but Symmetry appears to be selling both formulations and a 30 day supply of Diet Magic costs $51.95, so cheap it isn’t and there is no money back guarantee.

Recommended Alternative

Woman with diet pillsWe cannot recommend for may reasons, firstly being is that the product may be discontinued and third party stockists are running stock down.

The second reason is that there are several products that we rate higher.
