Hydroxycut SX-7 Overview
Hydroxycut SX-7 is the latest in a long string of weight loss formulas that claim to produce amazing results. The capsules are marketed by MuslceTech, a company located in Ontario, Canada. It categorizes itself as a thermogenic – diet speak for fat burner – but takes it further that the rest of the class.
It promises “an unparalleled sensory experience that will have you coming back for more!” It is so powerful, that consumers are advised to perform a tolerance assessment when first taking it, with the eventual full dose not to exceed 3 capsules per day. The cost is about 60 USD for a bottle of 70 capsules.
To take a full dose for the recommended 60 days, consumers will need to buy 3 bottles. With claims and warnings like that, consumers can’t help but be intrigued. Does this product really work and is the 180 USD cost worth it?
Hydroxycut SX-7 lists green coffee as its main ingredient, along with Myristica fragrans, Salvia officinalis, Ecklonia cava, Caffeine, Yohimbe, and Raspberry ketones.
United States Food and Drug labelling regulations require ingredients be listed on the label in descending order of amount, however on the website, the section on ingredients does not seem to follow this regulation.
There is no clear label picture and green coffee appears next to last in the listing.
Raspberry Ketone is by far and away the most noteworthy ingredient – its a pity the manufacturers didn’t their attentions on this ingredient.
Furthermore, the lack of label information makes it impossible to determine just how much of each ingredient is in each capsule, how much of each ingredient a user will consume over the course of a day, and if the amounts approach, equal or exceed recommended therapeutic doses.
Myristica fragrans is simply nutmeg. It has no weight-loss or fat-burning indications. Some people take it in an attempt to produce hallucinations, but there is insufficient scientific evidence to support it.
Salvia officinalis is the herb common sage. It does not have any weight-loss indications, and is supposed to contribute to the sensory experience. One wonders how, exactly.
Ecklonia cava is edible brown algae taken for weight-loss, but there is insufficient scientific evidence to support this use.
Caffeine has been proven to aid in weight loss.
Yohimbe is a chemical derived from tree bark and primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction and other sexual problems. Could this also contribute to the sensory response?
Raspberry Ketone is the real flagship ingredient, but the inclusion of a mere 50mg is nowhere near adequate.
The wording describing green coffee is concerning. It claims that in a scientific study, participants taking 200mg lost a significant amount of weight and states this is found in Hydroxycut SX-7, but it is unclear if they mean 200mg is found in the product, or just green coffee is found in the product. This type of double-speak in weight loss advertisement is a red flag.

Bottom Line… Is It Recommended
Short answer: No. This product lacks substance. It contains several ingredients that have been associated with serious side effects, and does not clearly list how much of each ingredient consumers will be getting. As for the sensory claims, a sensory experience can be anything from smelling a rose to getting caught in a bear trap.
Hydroxycut SX-7 says it will provide an, “insane assault on your senses!” and contains stimulants, an herb, a spice and an aphrodisiac. It sounds like the recipe for a hyperactive rabbit stew. What will this combination actually produce? Consumers are better off not trying to find out.
