Promised Benefits
- Suppresses appetite
- Controls hunger
- Curbs Cravings
- Accelerates fat burning metabolism
If the formulation is really capable of suppressing the appetite hunger will be controlled and any craving for food will be curbed. That’s obvious, so there are basically just two benefits offered—appetite suppression and fat burning—but the manufacturer’s claims about the fat burning process are interesting. According to the Apitrim website the tablets have a non-stimulant formula that can safely turn the user into a “fat burning furnace” without the use of stimulants. But the two of the ingredients (1,3,7-Trimethylxanthine & Synephrine Hydrochloride) are stimulants and one of them is anything but safe.
Key Ingredients
Each tablet provides 200g or a proprietary blend that contains:
- 1,3,7-Trimethylxanthine
- Synephrine Hydrochloride
- Garcinia Cambogia Extract (50% Hydrocitric Acid)
1,3,7-Trimethylxanthine is just caffeine. Benefits offered include, improved concentration, better focus and more energy, but side effects can include heart palpitations, jitters, nausea, and restlessness.
Synephrine Hydrochloride is a stimulant obtained from the rind of certain citrus fruits. It appears to have the ability to speed up the metabolism by altering lipolysis and basal metabolic rate, and some studies show its use can provide thermogenic fat burning. Unfortunately, synephrine is known to be capable of causing heart attacks and strokes and at least one person (a US soldier) has lost their life through the use of a synephrine supplement.
Garcinia Cambogia Extract (50% Hydrocitric Acid). A popular superfruit ingredient, garcinia cambogia is highly nutritious and is one of the best fat burners and appetite suppressants . Some studies also suggest it may also assist weight loss by preventing excess carbohydrate from being converted into body fat.
Usage Instructions
Tablets should be taken with 8 oz. of water and the first tablet of the day should be consumed 20 minutes before eating breakfast. A second tablet should be taken 20 minutes before eating lunch. For optimum results the manufacturers suggest a supplementation period of at least three months, or until the desired weight loss target has been achieved, but for “maintained results” they further state the formulation can be used safely on a daily basis.
Side Effects & Health Issues
The FAQ page on the official website states Apitrim is well tolerated by most people and side effects are unlikely. To “better help” customers the page also provides a list of “possible mild side effects”:
- Headache
- Heartburn
- Upset stomach
- Abdominal gas
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Flushing
- Jittery
Many customers experiencing headaches and/or heartburn may not consider such symptoms to be “mild” and, as pointed out earlier in this review, one of the ingredients (synephrine) has been linked to more frightening side effects.
Customer Feedback
The Apitrim home page shows some testimonials that are supposedly from customers, who lost 21lbs to 50lbs. The ShopTopDietPills website showcases more of the same, but testimonials from such biased sources are not to be relied upon.
Independent reviews show a mixed response to the product:
Purchasing Options
We could only find two ways to purchase Apitrim: from the official website and from a site called ShopTopDietPills. The interesting thing is all the shop’s top diet pills appear to be manufactured by the same people who manufacture Apitrim. This suggests the same people that are behind Apitrim also own the ShopTopDietPills website. Further evidence of this can be obtained by visiting the Apitrim website homepage and clicking on the “contact us” link at the bottom of the page. Customers who do so are then directed to a contact form at ShopTopDietPills.
Customers who click the same link at the bottom of the “Buying Apitrim” page are directed to a contact form at InnerVital.com. This is yet another company that produces a range of dietary products that sport similar packaging to Apitrim. According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), InnerVital and ShopTopDietPills are one and the same and at the time of this review the BBB had logged a total of 18 complaints about the company, most of which were made by customers who never received their orders or were not happy with the product/service.
Pricing & Guarantee
Each bottle contains 60 tablets and costs $34.99 (£23) plus shipping when purchased from the Apitrim website.
The manufacturers provide a 30 day money back guarantee.
The Bottom Line
Although it is possible Apitrim tablets may assist the weight loss process we are unable to recommend their use. The possible health risks are far too great. Many alternative products can offer superior results without presenting such risks to the health so we strongly recommend anyone who is considering buying Apitrim choose another product instead.
Recommended Alternative
One the main ingredients in Apitrim is Garcinia Cambogia – there has been so much written about this natural weight loss ingredient.
There are many products that include Garcinia Cambogia as either part of the formula or a main ingredients.
Garcinia Cambogia, in our opinion is best expressed in the brand Garcinia Extra.
